    Photo of Devil’s Canyon through the arch at Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area .  The Devil’s Canyon through the arch at Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area  was taken from a spot off the beaten path.  Cattle rustlers of old drove their cattle into the canyon and left them there until they got their price.  I believe the drop to the bottom of the canyon is 1000 feet.

There is steam coming up from thermal activity on the right.  This is similar to a photo taken by my grandparents who traveled to Yellowstone National Park for their honeymoon in 1921.  They drove a model T and camped for 6 months traveling from New York to California.

    Photo of Cowboy roping a calf riding through a snowy field.  I originally stopped because there were hundreds of orange and white cows in a snowy field at the top of the Bighorn Mountains.  The public land is leased to cattle ranchers and sheep herders.  As winter approaches, the cattle and sheep are moved back down to the low lands.  As I was watching the cows, a real cowboy road out and started herding the cattle on horseback to the other end of the field.  The photo is of the cowboy riding after a stray calf.

    Photo of Rainbow over Chief Joseph Highway Wyoming .  The Rainbow over Chief Joseph Highway Wyoming was taken from a spot at the top of a pass.  It was windy and rainy, but beautiful.  The highway runs from the Beartooth pass, through the Shoshone National Forest, through the Absaroka Mountains to the Clarks Fork Valley in Wyoming.
